At GAM's 2023 Annual Meeting, Director of Workforce Development Stephanie Scearce hosted a discussion to learn how Newton County began engaging high school students in manufacturing and the challenges and successes experienced along the way. In this panel we heard from Asher Dozier, Vice President of Economic Development for the Newton County Industrial Development Authority; Bevetta Morton, the Human Resources Business Partner for SRG Global; and Tim Schmitt, Director of CTAE and Workforce Innovation for theNewton County School System. They explain how they work collaboratively and intentionally to expose seniors with no post-secondary plans to careers in manufacturing.
