GAM Value of Membership

Earlier this year, GAM staff sent a satisfaction survey to members. What we got back was inspiring.   

100% of our members said they value GAM’s advocacy for the industry. And 100% would recommend GAM membership to other manufacturers.   

Drilling deeper, 90% said our consulting services were valuable. That’s 25 points up from the last survey we ran in 2021.   

I am reminded of this score every time a member reaches out asking for GAM’s counsel or support. And those calls, emails, texts come every week.   

  • Recently, a member emailed asking for a connection to a search firm. They need top-end engineering talent right now. We put them in touch with MAU, an associate member of GAM and a firm with proven expertise in finding manufacturing talent.   
  • Another called wanting to do an operations benchmarking tour across Georgia. They intended to visit four to six other GAM manufacturers who were willing to compare notes on best practices and provide facility tours. They asked us to assess manufacturers who aligned with their operations, then make the connections to set up the tour. GAM’s relationships with comparable manufacturers got them to open their doors.  
  • And one more member called wanting assistance with succession planning, including evaluation of his manufacturing facility for potential sale. After more fully assessing his needs, we reached out to a key GAM contact and put the two together.  

I could go on.  The examples are numerous. And my team’s responsiveness to these requests is a major driver of that 25-point increase.  

I share this because it validates what I tell prospective manufacturing members: Think of GAM not just as an association, but as a strategic and critical function on your company’s organization chart.

My team’s deep, statewide relationships can deliver access to resources that would otherwise take a manufacturer hours to find — and weeks, if not months — to build relations with.
