And the Oscar goes to…

COSMA 2025 image

Rats. We didn’t win.

GAM was recently nominated for the “Association of the Year” award by the Council of State Manufacturing Associations – or “COSMA”. The Council is comprised of trade groups like GAM that lead advocacy for manufacturing in 49 states. COSMA meets annually and is organized by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).

The award winner was Arkansas. GAM and Arizona shared runner-up slots.

But honestly, GAM won anyway

We won because the committee of peer associations who nominated GAM as a finalist recognized the progress we have made during our aggressive three-year transformation. The committee also acknowledged the impressive achievements we have recorded for our members and industry in 2025.

To put a sharper point on it, the committee was impressed with how GAM “leaned into” this year -- our 125th anniversary – to truly go the extra mile. They recognized our major accomplishments:

To add more icing to our anniversary achievement cake, GAM recently conducted its first “fly-in” to Washington, DC for members to meet Georgia’s Congressional leaders and remind them of the value of our industry back home.

And GAM just hosted an exclusive energy forum for a select few of our most engaged members. This provided members with one-on-one access to Kim Greene, CEO of Georgia Power and Kevin Greiner, CEO of Gas South along with a host of other energy experts. We capped the event with some fun at Truist Park and were even blessed with a Braves win.

And now we set our sights on bringing this very special anniversary year to a close in late October with an unforgettable Fall Leadership Conference and members-only birthday party to celebrate GAM’s century and a quarter of leadership.

I couldn’t be prouder of the work the GAM team has done. The achievements truly belong in a trophy case.
